Important Microchip Registration Update

What’s Happening?

“Save This Life,” one of our microchip providers, has ceased operations. While all microchips remain safe and functional, affected pets need to be re-registered to ensure they can be located if lost.

Who Needs to Take Action?

You should re-register your pet’s microchip if:

  • You adopted from us since May 2024
  • You attended our Vaccine and Chip Clinic (October 26-27, 2024)
  • Your pet’s microchip number starts with 991 or 900164

Need Your Pet’s Microchip Number?

  • Contact us at 503-554-9285
  • Email frontdesk@newberganimals.com
  • If you attended the Vaccine and Chip Clinic, visit the shelter during open hours for a scan
  • Have your veterinarian scan your pet

Re-Registration Options

Option 1: Free Pet Chip Registry (Recommended)

Option 2: Datamars/PetLink

  • Special offer: $1 registration fee
  • Use discount code: STLDOLLAR
  • Valid through March 31, 2025
  • Contact: 1-877-PETLINK (738-5465)
  • Register Here – PetLink

Peace of Mind

Even if you’re unsure whether your pet has a “Save This Life” microchip, registering through either option provides additional security at little to no cost. Better safe than sorry!
