Stray Dogs

Newberg Animal Shelter is available to accept stray dogs 7 days a week, 8:00am – 6:30pm. For more details, see our Lost and Found page.

Stray Cats

We do not take in stray or feral cats.  Stray pregnant cats and kittens are admitted on exception basis. For more details, see our Lost and Found page.

Community Support

We provide local food banks (FISH and YCAP) with dog and cat food to support the needs of the entire family for those seeking services at the food banks.

Dog licensing for Yamhill County

We are a licensing facility that works with Yamhill County Dog Control. Refer to their website for other locations to license your dog.

Licensing of all dogs in Oregon is required under ORS 609.100 in order to ensure a current rabies vaccination. This state law requires that “every person keeping a dog that has a set of permanent canine teeth or is six months old, whichever comes first, shall procure a license for the dog.”

Roto-Rooter Pet Rescue

This is not a service provided by Newberg Animal Shelter. If you have a pet stuck in a drain, Roto-Rooter can help you out! Check out their website for details:
