Leanne is one of those truly special people who brings kindness, hard work, and an incredible attitude to everything she does. She always has a smile on her face and never hesitates to go the extra mile for the animals in our care.
Her dedication is unmatched. Leanne routinely works herself to exhaustion, not because she has to, but because of the genuine passion and love she has for what she does. Every animal that comes through our doors receives her compassion, patience, and care, and you can feel just how much she loves them.
We are incredibly lucky to have Leanne as part of our team. Her hard work, positive spirit, and unwavering commitment make a difference every single day.

Meet Phoenix
Phoenix’s story is one of resilience, determination, and a little bit of destiny.
On November 1, 2022, Phoenix arrived at our shelter after being found in terrible condition following a fire. The people who brought her in feared the worst—she was severely injured, suffering from extensive burns and unable to move normally. What followed was a long and difficult road to recovery. Through countless veterinary visits, treatments, and months of healing, Phoenix fought every step of the way. Despite the odds, she never gave up.
As the months passed, Phoenix not only survived—she thrived. Along the way, she captured the hearts of everyone at the shelter. By the time her one-year anniversary rolled around, we realized something important: we simply couldn’t imagine the shelter without her. In November of 2023, Phoenix officially became the shelter’s cat.
Today, Phoenix reigns over the shelter lobby as our beloved resident feline and self-appointed supervisor. She spends her days patrolling the building, inspecting staff and volunteers, greeting visitors, and making sure everything is running according to her standards. With beds, blankets, and perches scattered throughout the shelter, she always has a cozy spot nearby to oversee her kingdom.
Phoenix is incredibly social and loves meeting new people. While our staff may have titles and job descriptions, everyone knows who the real boss is around here—and it’s Phoenix.
When you visit the shelter, be sure to stop by and say hello to her. Whether she’s making her rounds, lounging in one of her favorite beds, or keeping a watchful eye on the front desk, Phoenix is always happy to receive a little admiration from her loyal subjects.
