Shelter Open House
Saturday October 3rd, 2015
The Newberg Animal Shelter would like to thank the community for their continued support! We would love to see you Saturday, October 3rd, at the new shelter building.
Come see the latest construction progress on the shelter, meet adoptable pets, learn about volunteer opportunities, and see the newly installed commemorative bricks and pavers.
Fun for the entire family! We’ll have a face painter, raffles, popcorn, and spin the wheel games. Shop at our new shelter store for pet lover products for both the 2 and 4 legged.
Wine and Whiskers
The Newberg Animal Shelter Friends present the 1st annual Wine & Whiskers.
Join us the evening of April 30th in the Ballroom at the Chehalem Cultural Center for the 1st annual Wine & Whiskers. This wine themed event features a wine wall, silent auction, live auction, heavy hors d’oeuvres, delicious desserts, and of course wine.
Cliff Barackman of Animal Planet’s Finding Bigfoot is our MC for the evening.

Tickets are $40 per person, or $300 for a VIP reserved table for 8.

Willamette Valley Lavender Festival
July 9th from 10am – 8pm and July 10th from 10am – 5pm
Chehalem Cultural Center
- Spend a leisurely day enjoying the plein air art show, juried art and craft booths, distinctive lavender products, and lavender in myriad forms while you feast on lavender-based cuisine and refreshment.
- Talented musicians set the mood while you enjoy a glass of local lavender beer or wine. Relax while you’re surrounded by the captivating scent of lavender.
- Try your hand at lavender crafts or visit a nearby lavender farm. The former Yamhill Lavender Festival has moved to Newberg and has become the Willamette Valley Lavender Festival.
- This cooperative event brings local lavender growers and community volunteers together. Proceeds from the event benefit many charitable causes.

Stop by our booth at the farmers market every Wednesday from 1:30-6:00pm to meet an adoptable pet and see information about all our adoptable pets and services.

Fred Meyer Hot Dog Day
Saturday, August 27th
Stop by the Newberg Fred Meyer from 11:00am to 3:00pm. We’ll be located at the north door by the drive-up area. We’ll have hot dogs, chips and soda for sale. We’ll have some animal related products for sale and pictures of all our adoptable animals. If weather permits we may have shelter animals to greet you too. All proceeds go to the shelter!
Saturday, October 10th – 10:00am – 6:00pm
We’ll be joining this awesome yearly event this year at the Portland Metropolitan Expo Center! Admission is FREE & Pets are welcome! There will be so many activities at the event like agility demonstrations, pet talent and costume shows, sample delicious treats and talk with all the amazing animal welfare groups at the event. And there will be many pets available for adoption!

Photos with Santa, this year hosted at the Newberg Animal Shelter on Saturday, December 5th 12:00pm to 4:00pm. We’ll have Santa and Mrs. Claus. $15 for each sitting. You will receive a high resolution photo, either sent online or on a USB, per your choice.
