You have to come down to Newberg Animal Shelter to adopt any dog or cat. We have to make sure that all of our animals make it into the right home, you understand. This site is only informational and you’ll still need to make the trip to our shelter if you would like to adopt one our animals. We thank you for understanding and so do our animals.

Hi my name is Birdy!
I overheard someone say I remind them of Spuds Mackenzie. Huh? First of all, he’s a boy (I’m a girl), he’s a fictional character (I’m the real thing) and he promotes beer (I like water).
I’m Birdy, a 2-year-old who’s been called adorable, affectionate, easy-going and a fun size – a happy medium between small and large.
I adore people and love being close to you, I’m friendly with other dogs, I walk okay on a leash and when you ask me to do something my go-to is to collapse on my back and kick my feet in the air (guess that’s why I’m adorable!). I may not be a famous TV dog but if you adopt me, I’ll be the star of the family!
If you are interested in meeting me, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 6pm (summer hours).

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, ID microchip, and current vaccinations. They have been wormed, de-flead, socialized and given lots of love.
