Turkey Bird is a dog very befitting of his name. He is 3 years old, happy, energetic and totally Husky! Turkey Bird loves to talk and can make the craziest cute sounds when he is interested in attention or overly bored! He would love an active household that can spend time playing and cuddling. Turkey Bird would love a home with a large fenced yard to play and a house to cuddle up with his family when he lets you know he is done playing. He loves to play with plastic balls. Turkey Bird know sit and is food motivated. He does not appear to be reactive towards other dogs, however, we do not recommend a home with cats or small animals, as he becomes overly excitable and intense. Turkey Bird is tolerant of his ears and tail being played with, so we believe he would be tolerate children.

"Just wanted to let you you know how much we love and adore little Strider. We named him Milo after adopting him over Thanksgiving weekend. He has adjusted beautifully and loves to play with wand toys, chase his Kitty brother Toby and snuggle with his Doggy sister Luna. He enjoys his pets and snuggles and is starting to enjoy an occasional lap for a few minutes. He’s a wonderful addition to our family! Thank you for rescuing this beautiful boy!!!"

Hamlin is looking for a foster-to-adopt home. He is a lovable goofball that would thrive in an active household. When he arrived at Newberg Animal Shelter from California, he had no clue what basic manners were, but thought every person he met needed to be his best friend. Two-weeks ago, we sent him off to board and train with Marvin Pierce Dog Teacher, to work on some basic skills, such as walking on a leash. He is improving on some of his manners and would do well with a knowledgeable adopter who is willing to continue his education. While at training, he has been out with other dogs but can be unpredictable with other dogs. He would do best as the only dog in the home, where the attention can be focused on him. Hamlin is currently healing from an advanced neuter surgery and is on antibiotics to control some infection. He is looking for a foster-to-adopt home where he can enjoy his new home and finish his medical treatment (NAS covers medical expenses during foster time). Once treatment is complete then the adoption would be finalized. As a foster-to-adopt dog, you will receive a discount of $50 off the listed adoption fee.
