You have to come down to Newberg Animal Shelter to adopt any dog or cat. We have to make sure that all of our animals make it into the right home, you understand. This site is only informational and you’ll still need to make the trip to our shelter if you would like to adopt one our animals. We thank you for understanding and so do our animals.

Leo is a 2 year old, 11 pound, Domestic Medium Hair/Maine Coon mix. He is a very nice boy. He loves to be a lap cat. He is fearless and friendly. Leo is a special needs cat with an auto-immune disease. He is currently being well managed with a hydrolyzed diet and periodic steroid injections.

BONDED PAIR
Since arriving at Newberg Animal Shelter, Leo has become bonded with another cat named Sophie and would love to share his new home with his friend.

SOPHIE’S ADOPTION FEE HAS BEEN PAID AND A BAG OF HER SPECIAL FOOD HAS BEEN PURCHASED BY KEN AND KRIS BILDERBACK TO HELP HER FIND HER FOREVER HOME.

Sophie is a gentle soul. She is timid, but affectionate. Sophie is looking for a quiet home and a new owner with the patience to let her build confidence and come out of her shell. Sophie appears to have some food allergies and needs a special diet.

Since arriving at Newberg Animal Shelter, Sophie has formed a strong bond with Leo. He has helped her to gain trust, become playful and come out of her shell. She would love to be adopted with her friend Leo!

We focus on finding the best match for adoptable animals and are not first-come first-served.

If you are interested in learning more about and meeting any adoptable pet, please come in to the shelter during our open adoption hours Wednesday – Saturday 11am to 6pm.

Some maps will route you to 1591 S Avalon Park, it is the same location.

If you have another dog in the home, we require you, your family members, and your existing dog(s) to come and meet the dog at the shelter.

The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, ID microchip, and current vaccinations. They have been wormed, de-flead, socialized and given lots of love.
