Luke Duke

Meet Luke Duke — one half of the shelter’s very own Duke Boys duo. This handsome gentle giant may be big in size, but his heart is even bigger. Luke is the kind of dog who believes there’s no problem that can’t be solved with a good cuddle and some quality time by your side.

Believed to be a mix of Great Dane, Labrador Retriever, and maybe a little Mastiff, Luke has the classic “oversized lap dog” personality down to an art form. He’s sweet, playful, affectionate, and happiest when he’s leaning against you like he weighs about 10 pounds instead of… considerably more.

Luke and his brother Bo may not be outrunning the law in Hazzard County, but they will steal hearts everywhere they go. Luke has a soft, gentle nature that makes everyone instantly fall in love with him. Whether he’s following you from room to room, lounging nearby, or looking at you with those soulful eyes, he just wants to be close to his people.

If you’ve been searching for a lovable sidekick with the charm of a Duke Boy and the heart of a teddy bear, Luke Duke is ready to ride shotgun straight into your life.

If you are interested in meeting Luke Duke, the shelter is open Monday through Saturday, 11 am – 6 pm, Sunday 11 am-4 pm (Summer Hours). If you’d like to schedule an appointment, check out the pets’ profile on our website at newberganimals.com to fill out an application and email it to frontdesk@newberganimals.com.

The information above reflects our best assessment based on observations at the shelter and any information provided by previous owners. Any information regarding kids, other animals, or potty training is our best estimate based on available history and shelter observations. Since we cannot test every scenario, many categories may be listed as “unknown,” and behavior in a home environment may differ from what we see at the shelter.
