We wanted to give an update with the attention the

We wanted to give an update with the attention the story of the kittens has been getting. First, we have to thank everyone who has donated to help these little ones! Thank you! ❤️ We spoke with the vet and have to correct the terminology we used. The kittens were not conjoined like we think of as conjoined twins, but they were entangled together by their umbilical cords, placentas and body parts after birth. We took the kittens in from a helpful citizen and not directly from the owner so we did not have the specific details on how or when the kittens were born. The owner wanted to keep the Mom but not these kittens. They are being cared for and bottle fed by our experienced staff and volunteers. Unfortunately, we lost one of the kittens, Huron. 😿He had his belly stitched together after being separated, the vet believes he had a blood clot after surgery. The other kittens... Michigan, Ontario, Superior and Erie are doing very well! We will continue to update you on how they are growing. Thank you again for all the support!

Late last night we received five newborn conjoined

Late last night we received five newborn conjoined kittens. They were stuck together by their umbilical cords and legs. We kept them fed and warm until they went into surgery first thing this morning at Newberg Vet. Dr. Tripp successfully separated them and we're happy to report they are all doing well! Two of them had to have half of one leg amputated and one had stitches to keep his belly together. They aren't out of the woods yet, but we are hopeful they will all survive this rare birth. We have named them after the Great Lakes... Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie and Ontario. Any amount of donation will help towards their surgery today, their ongoing care and future surgeries. We will keep you posted on their recovery! The last picture is of them separated. 😻

If you can't make it today, the shop will be popping up on Friday April 30th and Saturday May 1st!
