Meet Valor – A Brave Soul Ready for His Next Chapter

Valor is a senior gentleman with a heart as big as his story. When he first arrived at the shelter, he was in very rough shape. With veterinary care, dedicated shelter staff and kind care in a foster home, Valor has blossomed into a loving, loyal companion who’s finally ready to find a family of his own.

Despite his difficult past, Valor greets each day with quiet courage. He does have some medical needs—he requires daily eye drops and has some hearing and vision impairment—but he handles his routine like a pro. He’s looking for someone who can offer him consistency, gentle care, and the comfort he truly deserves.

In his foster home, Valor showed just how adaptable and good-natured he can be.
He learned to peacefully ignore the cats and got along well with most of the resident dogs. The only exception was the youngest male, who he found to be a bit too much. As he is selective in his canine companions, he would do best with female dogs that are his size or larger.

Valor dreams of a home with older children who understand his physical limitations and provide a soft approach. Valor seems to thrive with calm canine companions. His foster noticed that having other dogs around—especially dogs his size or larger—helped him understand the household routine, even with his limited hearing and sight. While he is potty trained, as a senior, there are occasional accidents, but he is good at letting his people know he needs to go outside.

If you’re looking to give a senior dog a soft landing and a life filled with comfort, Valor will repay your kindness with quiet devotion and endless gratitude. This brave boy has come so far—now he just needs someone to help him enjoy the rest of his journey.

To ensure the right fit for Valor, a foster-to-adopt is also an option.

If you are interested in meeting Valor, the shelter is open Tuesday through Saturday 11am – 5pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Winter Hours).
