You have to come down to Newberg Animal Shelter to adopt any dog or cat. We have to make sure that all of our animals make it into the right home. This site is only informational and you’ll still need to make the trip to our shelter if you would like to adopt one our animals. We thank you for understanding and so do our animals.

Sky is a resilient girl with a heart as beautiful as her name. When she first arrived at the shelter, she had clearly been through far too much and was in heartbreaking condition, suffering from severe skin issues and obvious neglect. Thanks to veterinary care, dedicated shelter staff, and lots of patience and compassion, Sky has made an incredible transformation.
Now feeling so much better, Sky is ready to leave her difficult past behind and start the life she deserves. She is looking for a loving home where she can continue to thrive, be cherished, and finally know what it means to be part of a family. Sky’s journey is a testament to her strength, and she is ready to shine bright in a home of her own.
Sky is still receiving medicated shampoo baths as her skin continues to heal, and this care will likely need to continue for a little while after adoption to help keep her comfortable and on the path to full recovery. Given her poor skin health and lack of fur on entry, it has been difficult to determine her breed, although we believe there is likely some terrier in the mix.
Sky can be selective about her canine companions and may be reactive when meeting unfamiliar dogs, so she will need thoughtful introductions and an adopter who can help her feel secure and supported. With the right guidance and environment, Sky has so much love to give.

Our open hours are Monday – Saturday 11am-6pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Summer hours). Adoptions end one hour prior to close.
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, ID microchip, and current vaccinations. They have been wormed, de-flead, socialized and given lots of love.
