You have to come down to Newberg Animal Shelter to adopt any dog or cat. We have to make sure that all of our animals make it into the right home. This site is only informational and you’ll still need to make the trip to our shelter if you would like to adopt one our animals. We thank you for understanding and so do our animals.

Meet Johnny!
If you’re looking for a young dog with a heart of gold and a lifetime of adventures ahead, Johnny is your guy!
At just 8 months old, this handsome Black Mouth Cur mix (we think there may be some Lab or hound mixed in, too) is everything you’d expect from a teenage pup—fun, energetic, curious, and always ready for whatever comes next. He’s still learning the ropes of being the perfect canine companion, but he’s incredibly sweet and absolutely worth the time and effort.
Johnny will thrive with an active family that’s committed to giving him the consistent training, exercise, and structure every young dog needs. He’s a bit of a jumper when he’s excited and could use some practice with his leash manners, but with patience, positive reinforcement, and regular outings, he’s sure to blossom into an amazing companion.
Beneath all that puppy enthusiasm is a loving, affectionate boy who just wants to be part of the family. Johnny is eager to learn, eager to please, and ready to build a strong bond with someone willing to invest in his future.

Our open hours are Monday – Saturday 11am-6pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Summer hours). Adoptions end one hour prior to close.
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, ID microchip, and current vaccinations. They have been wormed, de-flead, socialized and given lots of love.
