You have to come down to Newberg Animal Shelter to adopt any dog or cat. We have to make sure that all of our animals make it into the right home. This site is only informational and you’ll still need to make the trip to our shelter if you would like to adopt one our animals. We thank you for understanding and so do our animals.

Meet Summer!
When the world feels overwhelming, Summer’s first instinct is to hunker down and make herself as small as possible. Rather than running or acting defensive, she simply freezes and hopes everything scary will pass. She’s a very timid kitten who hasn’t learned to trust people yet.
Summer will thrive with a calm, experienced cat owner who understands that building trust takes time. She’ll need a quiet environment, gentle handling, and someone who will celebrate every little milestone, no matter how small. While she may not be an instant lap cat, every bit of progress she makes will be incredibly rewarding.
If you have the patience to let Summer come out of her shell on her own timeline, you’ll be giving her the greatest gift: the chance to discover what it feels like to finally feel safe and loved.

Our open hours are Monday – Saturday 11am-6pm, Sunday 11am-4pm (Summer hours). Adoptions end one hour prior to close.
The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, ID microchip, and current vaccinations. They have been wormed, de-flead, socialized and given lots of love.
