Meet CJ — your loyal guardian, adventure buddy, and devoted best friend.
CJ is a handsome young guy with a striking coat and an even more impressive heart. At around a year old, he’s still discovering the world, but one thing is already clear: when CJ loves you, he loves you completely.
Believed to have livestock guardian breed roots (such as Anatolian or Great Pyrenees mix), CJ takes his job of looking after his people seriously. He’s attentive, loyal, and naturally protective of those he trusts. While he can be reserved with strangers at first, once he knows you’re part of his circle, you’ll have a steadfast companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side. He is a high energy working breed dog and will do best with consistent exercise and mental stimulation.
CJ is looking for a home that understands that trust is earned, not rushed. With patience, consistency, and positive experiences, this smart young dog continues to grow in confidence every day. He would thrive with adopters who appreciate his guardian instincts and are committed to helping him navigate the world.
If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will always have your back, CJ may be the perfect match.
If you are interested in meeting CJ, the shelter is open Monday through Saturday 11am – 6pm, Sunday 11am-4pm.

Information regarding compatibility with children, other animals, and house training is our best estimate based on information available to us and behaviors observed in the shelter environment. We cannot guarantee temperament, behavior in the home, compatibility with children or other pets, or house-training status. Shelter behavior may not be indicative of behavior in a home setting.
